Hysterectomy is removal of a woman’s uterus. It ends menstruation and the ability to become pregnant. Depending on the reason for the surgery, a hysterectomy may also involve the removal of other organs and tissues such as the ovaries and/or fallopian tubes. Dr. Fan has many years of experience performing these procedures using different approaches based on the needs of patients. He describes himself as having a “very conservative approach. I go for medical treatments first, and think about surgical approaches only when really necessary and after a lot of discussion with my patient.”
